<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bifacial mountable resistor suitable to the so-called bulk mounting that does not particularize the surface of the chip for surface mounting. <P>SOLUTION: This resistor has a insulation substrate 11 mainly composed of almina, a resistor 15 made on the insulation substrate, a pair of electrodes connected to the resistor, and a protective film 17 made on the resistor. By providing a insulation layer in the area where the electrode are made on the insulation substrate, the upper surface of the electrode becomes higher than or flush with the upper surface of the protective layer, and the protective layer 17b is made whitish. By this, the color of the front surface of the chip resistor becomes plumbeous-white-plumbeous with its rear surface having almost the same coloration, and this can eliminate the troubles that the resistors are regarded as different kinds of components from the surface appearance of the resistor mounted with its front surface up or down in the image processing of the inspection step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
