PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-synchronous type FIFO memory device in which the accurate number of data in the device is grasped, sure continuous access is guaranteed, and access efficiency is high. SOLUTION: This device comprises a next state function 119 provided with a function in which timing control of a write-in request signal from a first external device and a read-out request signal from a second external device is performed by a mediation circuit 14, write-in of data and read-out of data are performed by a RAM 110 conforming to external write-in request and read- out request, write-in address and read-out address inputted to the RAM 110 are counted conforming to external write-in request and read-out request, and a function in which the accurate number of data stored in a FIFO are counted.
