PURPOSE: Provided is a process for producing polyaspartic acid by polycondensing a dibasic acid and ammonia, which uses silicone solution as a solvent and heat medium, therefore, can prevent toxicity and smell of an organic solvent, a complex process for removing the organic solvent, and a foaming phenomenon. CONSTITUTION: The polyaspartic acid is produced by reacting the dibasic acid and the ammonia to prepare a polymer having a succinyl repeating unit and then hydrolyzing and polymerizing the polymer having the succinyl repeating unit, wherein the silicone solution(formula 1) is used as a solvent and heat medium and the silicone solution of 30-300%(based on the weight of the dibasic acid) is used. In the formula, n is an integer of 0-4000, m is an integer of 1-1000, X is CH3 or CH2CH2CF3, and Y is CH3 or C6H5, and Z is H, C1-C16 alkyl, or C6H5.
