CAN COMMUNICATION DEVICE

PURPOSE: A CAN(Controller Area Network) communication device is provided to carry out the communication between a computer and an external device through a CAN communication method by installing a single card including all devices for the CAN communication into a bus extension slot. CONSTITUTION: A PC interface(20) comprises a PC system bus interface(21) interpreting and transferring a control instruction from a CPU of a PC controller, and a PC instruction storing part(22) storing the control instruction. A CAN communication part(40) includes a CAN controlling part(41) converting the data from the PC instruction storing part(22) into a format corresponding to the CAN communication method, and a CAN transferring part(42) transferring the converted data to both directions on a CAN communication line. A microprocessor(30) has a function for controlling each part and can independently execute the CAN communication function for the CPU of the PC controller.
