PURPOSE: A method for coating metal film on the surface of the hydrophilic functional group formed polymer by electroless plating after forming hydrophilic functional group on the surface of polymer by plasma treatment and a method for shielding electromagnetic wave using the same are provided. CONSTITUTION: In a method for coating a metal film on the surface of polymer by electroless plating using precious metal as catalyst after introducing hydrophilic functional group into polymer by plasma treating the surface of polymer at low temperature, the method for coating the metal film on the surface of polymer is characterized in that contact angle for water on the surface of polymer is lowered as much as 5 to 60 degrees of an angle by low temperature treatment, wherein the method additionally comprises the step of dipping the hydrophilic functional group introduced polymer into organic solvent or cleaning the polymer in an ultrasonic cleaner for 0.1 to 5 minutes after introducing hydrophilic functional group into polymer by low temperature plasma generation, wherein the low temperature plasma generation is performed inside vacuum tank in which pressure of 100 to 5x10¬-4 torr and temperature of 5 to 70 deg.C are maintained, wherein the organic solvent is a polar organic solvent of tetrafluoroethylene or tetrachloroethylene, wherein the low temperature plasma generation is performed using one or more materials selected from the group consisting of low concentrated air, water, acetone, acetaldehyde, formalin, acrylic acid, oxygen, nitrogen, argon and hydrogen, and wherein the precious metal is palladium, platinum, gold, silver, tin or mixture thereof, and wherein the polymer is one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polycarbonate, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polyimide, acrylic resin, fluorocarbon resin, epoxy resin and rubber.
