Nucleic acid (I) which is: (a) any of 49 sequences, reproduced; (b) degenerate variants of (a); (c) the complementary strands of (a); and (d) specific fragments of (a)-(c), is new. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Polypeptides (II) encoded by (I), especially one comprising all or part of 118 sequences reproduced; (2) nucleic acid probes (III) that can detect (I) by selective hybridization; (3) primer (IV), and their pairs, that can amplify (I) selectively; (4) antibody (Ab) specific for (II); (5) diagnosis of a disease, or predisposition to it, by detecting (I) or (II) in a body sample; (6) kit for method (5); (7) selection or identification of active compounds from their ability to modulate expression or activity of (II) in a cell, in vivo or in vitro; (8) vector containing (I); (9) recombinant cell containing the vector of (8); and (10) product comprising (I), (III), the vector of (8), (II) or Ab, immobilized on a support.
