WALL CONSTRUCTION AND PREFABRICATED FORMER THEREFOR

A prefabricated former (1) is provided for use in the construction of a wall. The former is of generally rectangular shape and has an in operative height typically corresponding to a full wall height. The former comprises a pair of generally parallel spaced skin defining sheets (2, 30, 37) made of a cementitious material that become a permanent part of the wall once constructed. The skin defining sheets are held in spaced relationship relative to each other by a series of interconnecting transverse webs (3, 31, 36) typically defined either by one or more corrugated sheets (4) permanently fixed to the inside surfaces of the skin defining sheets or defined by flexible webs (31, 36) operatively held taut by spacers (32, 38) inserted between the skin defining sheets. The transverse webs are configured so as to permit the flow of a flowable settable cementitious mix between the skin defining sheets from the operative top of the former to the operative bottom thereof and also preferably laterally.
