The invention relates to an installation and method for measuring a geometric characteristic of an anatomical segment of an individual and to a computer program that implements one such method.The inventive measuring installation consists of a computerised measuring system comprising: an identification system (19) which identifies an area of interest on a plane image; a matching system (20) which determines the two-dimensional co-ordinates of an anatomical point on each plane image, by searching for a correlation between the area of interest and a corresponding area on each image; and a calculation unit (21) which determines the three-dimensional co-ordinates of the anatomical point of the individual in the measurement space on the basis of the aforementioned two-dimensional co-ordinates and a relationship obtained by means of calibration.
