PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile equipment in which an object having ruggedness such as a book can be accurately scanned by a hand scanner. SOLUTION: The facsimile equipment is composed of a hand scanner 14 and a paper tray composed of a recording paper storage cassette and a storage cover for storing recording paper. The storage cover 19 is composed of a transparent material, has a flat face 19a and is provided to be freely attached to and detached from the recording paper storage cassette. The storage cover 19 is placed on an rugged object 60 to turn the flat face 19a upwards when scanning the object 60 with the hand scanner 14 in the state of being detached from the recording paper storage cassette and in such a state, the surface of the flat face 19a is scanned by the hand scanner 14.
