PURPOSE: A heat exchanger is provided to improve performance of heat transfer by reducing a dead zone formed on a wake side of a heat transfer tube. CONSTITUTION: A heat transfer fin(10) has a plurality of joining holes(30) formed thereon at regular intervals in longitudinal direction to allow a plurality of heat transfer tubes(20) to be inserted thereto. A plurality of slits(41,42,43,44,45,46,47,48,49) are protrusively and alternately formed on a front side and a rear side of the heat transfer fin or on one of the front side and the rear side of the heat transfer fin. The heat transfer tubes have ends connected with each other by U-shaped bands. The slits comprise protrusive pieces(41b,42b,43b,44b,45b,46b,47b,48b,49b) formed in spaces between the joining holes, opened in direction in which air flows, and perpendicularly protruding from a plane of the heat transfer fin; and leg parts(41a,42a,43a,44a,45a,46a,47a,48a,49a,41c,42c,43c,44c,45c,46c,47c,48c,49c) integrally formed on both ends of the protrusive pieces to be bent. Each of the slits on a first row, a second row, a fourth row and a fifth row formed on sides through which air on a base side of the heat transfer fin flows in and out is divided into two of unit slits. Each of the slits on a third row formed on a central part of the base side is formed as a single unit slit. The unit slits on the second row and the fourth row are formed to be inclined toward the neighboring joining holes.
