PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a minidisk (MD) and compact disk (CD) player small-sized and lightweight. SOLUTION: An MD rotation unit 19 which rotates an MD and a CD rotation unit 22 which rotates a CD of 12 or 8 cm are fitted to a swivel frame 11 which freely swivels in a horizontal direction. Which of an MD cartridge and a CD a medium inserted into a disk insertion slot 7 or 7a is detected. A clamp unit which has a clamper comes into contact with the CD inserted into a housing to clamp the CD. When the CD is inserted into the CD insertion slot 7, the swivel frame 11 is swiveled so that the CD rotation unit 22 faces the clamper. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
