PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal for a roller bearing which can improve sealing performance and durability of the seal. SOLUTION: The seal for the roller bearing has a constitution that seal lips (2a, 2b, and 2c) provided to a sealing member 2 fixed on an outer ring side (or an inner ring side) are brought into sliding contact with an opposing metal 3 face on the inner ring side (or the outer ring side) and a filled lubricant is sealed. At least hardening treatment or a hard film (a broken line) having corrosion resistance and a rust-prevention property is applied on the metal 3 surface with which the seal lip 2a located on the outermost peripheral side of the sealing member is brought into sliding contact.
