PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To moderate the congruity given to an observer by preventing many needles from being seen at once. SOLUTION: A meter has a pointer 41b turnable for indication on a graphic display 41. It shows a shadow 41c of the pointer 41b on the opposite side to its turning side while the turning speed of the pointer 41b exceeds a specified value. Thus the shadow 41c hides a needle 41z always seen as a residual image in the conventional meter, so that many pointers 41b, 41z are not seen at once to thereby moderate the congruity given to an observer.
