PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a optically active silanols synthesizing raw materials and intermediates for medicines, agrochemicals and various kinds of functional materials. SOLUTION: The silanols are represented by general formula (wherein, R1is selected from t-butyl group or i-propyl group; R2is selected from t-butyl group, i-propyl group, vinyl group or acetylene group and an unsubstituted or a p-methyl-substituted phenyl group; R3is an unsubstituted, a p-methyl- substituted or a p-methoxy-substituted phenyl group; and R4is selected from hydrogen or methyl group).
