PURPOSE: A skew control device for a disc drive is provided to directly couple a control unit for supporting an end of a pickup guide shaft with a base inserted by a pickup base, thereby simplifying the structure of the skew control device and improving the assembling work. CONSTITUTION: A base(40) is inserted by a pickup base(30) formed with a pickup movement window for the movement of a pickup mounted to the pickup base. A control unit(33) is directly coupled with the base and supports an end of a pickup guide shaft(50) which guides the movement of the pickup. A cam part(36) is inserted by the end of the pickup guide shaft and includes a height continuously controllable around the control unit to control the height of the pickup guide shaft. The control unit has a head part(35) at an upper end and a screw part(37) extended from the center of the head part to a lower end. The cam part surrounds the head part spirally and has an upper cam(36t) and a lower camp(36b) contacting opposing surfaces of the pickup guide shaft end.
