PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scale variable device capable of operating as intended by the user. SOLUTION: The device is constituted of a scale-indicating means 111 indicating the scale, a memory means 112 storing a plurality of kinds of scale information, containing scale indication position information and digits corresponding to the scale, a scale information selecting means 113 selecting the scale information, a position specifying means 114 specifying an arbitrary position in the scale, and a control means 115 indicating the scale in the scale-indicating means 111, based on the scale information, when the scale information is selected, and determining the digits corresponding to a specified position, when the arbitrary position in the scale is specified.
