PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a periodical automatic backup schedule method and a device capable of performing a schedule for surely performing required backup in a period. SOLUTION: This device is characterized by having an input part 1 for accepting an input of backup data information when performing new registration of backup of prescribed file data, a backup execution capacity recording part 2 for holding steadily backup data basic information inputted in the past, an external memory selection part 3 for selecting a memory having the least area using rate in each external memory when allocating assumptively the pertinent backup to all the existing external memories from a plurality of external memories following input of the backup data information, a schedule part 4 for allocating the backup to one selected external memory and setting a required schedule, and an execution part 5 for executing the required backup based on the set schedule.
