PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a halogen-free flame retardant resin composition suppressed in generating a toxic hydrogen bromide gas during combustion and excellent in heat resistance, moisture resistance, corrosion resistance, dielectric characteristics and the like without using a halogen as a flame retardant means, and provide a prepreg containing the flame retardant resin and laminate products such as a laminate, a copper clad laminate, a print circuit board and the like produced by using the prepreg. SOLUTION: The flame retardant composition comprises A) at least one species of phosphazene compounds, (B) a reaction product of a polyphenylene ether with at least one species selected from unsaturated carboxylic acids and acid anhydrides, (C) at least one species selected from triallyl isocyanurate and triallyl cyanurate and (D) an inorganic filler as essential ingredients.
