PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus for composing images picked up with a plurality of cameras installed on a vehicle and avoiding a sense of incongruity from being caused on a displayed image even when the state of moving parts of the vehicle is changed. SOLUTION: A pixel composing section 21 receives a camera image outputted from an imaging section 1 and references a mapping table MPT to produce a synthesis image. A display switching section 23 receives a signal S1 indicative a state of the moving parts such as a door and a bonnet and rewrites mapping data so as not use the camera image for the synthesis image when the state change in the moving parts effects the camera image.
