PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bus operation supporting system for displaying a stand-by time until a bus arrives at a display part at each bus stop, and updating the stand-by time to display the stand-by time in, so called, a real time. SOLUTION: In this system for managing the operation of a bus in at least one bus lane including a plurality of bus stops, each traveling bus measures an arrival expected time at the next bus stop each time starting from the bus stop, and wirelessly transmits it as stand-by time information through a bus center to the next bus stop. Each bus calculates a difference between a standard traveling time t<SB>s</SB>and an actual traveling time tR during traveling since starting from the bus stop, and when the difference reaches a reference time t<SB>d</SB>, transmits it as stand-by time correction information through the bus center to the next bus stop. The bus stop displays the stand-by time based on the stand-by time information, and at the time of receiving the stand-by time correction information, displays the stand-by time corrected based on the reception of the information.
