PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology by which a leak test is available in an organic EL (Electroluminescence) display device. SOLUTION: The organic EL display device 11 has an EL panel 18 and a cap component 61 fixed to it in an airtight state, and in a hollow portion 60 between the cap component 61 and the EL panel 18, nitrogen gas with a very small quantity of helium gas added to it is enclosed. By putting this organic EL display device 11 under the vacuum atmosphere, if in a case that helium gas is detected in the vacuum atmosphere, since it turns out that the cap component 61 and the EL panel 18 are not fixed in the airtight state, it can be judged that this organic EL display device 11 is defective.
