PURPOSE: An apparatus for switching discharge direction of an indoor unit of an air conditioner is provided to allow discharge direction of chilled air from the indoor unit to be easily switched. CONSTITUTION: A discharge grill(11) is formed on a front upper side of an air conditioner main body(10). A duct connecting part(12) is opened on an upper side of the air conditioner main body. Hinge parts(13) are formed on both of front ends of the upper side of the air conditioner main body. A discharge cut-off plate(20) is joined to the hinge parts by hinge pins(30) to rotate. The hinge pin is joined by a fixing nut(31). The hinge part is formed to be inclined from the front end of the air conditioner main body at 45 deg. so that the discharge cut-off plate is attached on a circumference of an opening of the discharge grill or the duct connecting part. Screw coupling holes(22) are formed on both sides of a free end of the discharge cut-off plate to fix the discharge cut-off plate to the discharge grill or the duct connecting part.
