<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widen the visual field angle (especially the visual field angle in the lower direction) of a liquid crystal display device having a touch panel and to prevent reduction in contrast due to the change of a visual angle in the liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device having a liquid crystal cell, a quarter wave plate and a linearly polarizing plate in this order is further provided with an optical compensation sheet having a transparent substrate and an optically anisotropic layer wherein the alignment of a discotic liquid crystal is fixed and having a specified optical anisotropy and the touch panel wherein two transparent conductive substrates each provided with a transparent conductive film on at least one surface thereof are disposed so that the transparent conductive films are opposed to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
