PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surveying machine for measuring distance, an angle, and the like that especially can store survey data such as distance, an angle, and the like, and can display images from imaging elements or image and survey data on a display. SOLUTION: A telescope optical system including a focusing optical system forms the image of a target that is installed at a measuring point. An imaging element receives light from the telescope optical system and converts the image of the target to a signal. A storage means stores survey data such as distance and an angle in addition to the image of the imaging element. Then, a display can display images from the imaging element or image or survey data.
