PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bead plate of a metal gasket which is excellent both in heat resistance and sealing properties and has a seal agent hard to be scratched on a surface, and to provide the metal gasket. SOLUTION: In a bead substrate used for the metal gasket, the seal agent is applied on the bead and its vicinity. In the bead plate of the metal gasket, the seal agent applied on at least one bead and its vicinity comprises a heat- resistant seal agent (main coating agent) applied on the bead substrate, and a sub coat agent applied on the main coat agent and the sub coat agent. The sub coat agent has a more excellent elastic coefficient in fitness to a sealing surface compared with the main coat agent and higher scratch resistance compared with the main coat agent, and is formed of a material lower than the main coat agent in a minimum sealing contact pressure.
