PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cam assembly with a configuration capable of reducing weight and noises, preventing problems associated with friction heat, and preventing deterioration of mechanical rigidity such as exfoliation. SOLUTION: The cam assembly comprises a cam gear (37) interlocked with a crank shaft (20) for transmitting rotation of the crank shaft (20) to a valve system (27, 28), and a valve cam (37A) used integrally with the cam gear (37). The cam gear (37) is formed integrally by casting synthetic resin into the valve cam (37A) made of ferrous sintered alloy, after a molding process of the valve cam. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
