<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit of an air conditioner in which the maintainability of each device included in the unit is improved. <P>SOLUTION: A gap G is provided on a motor fixing seat 32 for fitting a fan motor 16 provided on a base 30, and the gap enables the fan motor 16 to be spaced away from an indoor device fan 15. A motor cover 33 that covers the motor 16 is so configured that displacement in the thrust direction of the motor 16 is restrained.
