PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the burdens of a user and to enable a provider to gain profits. SOLUTION: A memory card 10 for limiting the read/erase of image data by using a pass code is used. A memory card providing/recovering system 31 comprises: a pass code preparation/storage means 32 for creating the pass code corresponding to the intrinsic number of the memory card 10 and storing it in the memory card 10; an Internet server 35 provided with a pass code preservation area 33 and a pass code retrieval means 34; an image data read/erasure means 36; and a storage/preservation means 37 for storing/preserving the read image data in a different storage medium.
