PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety rope attaching device which can save labor and time for being carried to/brought back from a job site and for being installed on/removed from the job site, because the safety rope attaching device does not have to be carried to/brought back from the job site or installed on/removed from the job site, each time work is performed on the job site. SOLUTION: A support 16 is coupled to a pedestal 26 which is installed on a floor 12; a chain 18 is coupled to the support 16. The chain 18 is used to attach a hook 22 of a safety rope 20. The support 16 can be turned to a storage position and a raised position along the pedestal 26; and a lock mechanism part 30 can be changed between a fixed state in which the support 16 is fixed to the pedestal 26 in a state of being in the raised position and a release state in which the fixed state is released. Thus, the safety rope attaching device 10 can be installed on the job site in the vicinity of an opening 14 and housed in the pedestal 26 so as not to be a hindrance in a non-use state.
