APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REMOVING NOISE

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for removing a noise are provided to sense and remove a radial noise from an RF signal, thereby preventing focus drop of a focus servo and a pickup lens of a tracking servo from being stuck in. CONSTITUTION: If an optical disk(200) is played, an RF(Radio Frequency) signal reflected from the optical disk by a pickup(201) is inputted to an RF amplifying and noise processing unit(202). The RF signal output from the pickup is amplified in an RF amplifying unit(202-1) to be inputted to a noise detecting unit(202-2). The noise detecting unit(202-2) detects error signals from the amplified RF signal. A noise removing unit(202-3) removes a radial noise mixed in the error signals. The error signals from which the radial noise is removed are output to a DSP(Digital Signal Processor)(203). The DSP processes the error signals into signals for controlling a servo operation to output a tracking actuator output signal and a focus actuator output signal.
