PURPOSE: A fluorescent lamp starter is provided to remove a spike voltage through the starter during a lamp turn-on and protection operation, while preventing erroneous operations of a comparator and a counter. CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent lamp starter comprises a driver unit(20) with programmed optimum conditions for grasping lamp turn-on state and turning on the lamp; a power supply and switch unit(10) including a power supply for driving a power switch and a driver; a spike voltage control unit(30) for removing the spike voltage generated during a lamp turn-on and protection operation; and a driver erroneous operation prevention unit(40) for preventing an erroneous operation of the driver caused due to the leakage current from the power supply and switch unit.
