The system, designed to move aircraft (6, 7, 8, 9) on the ground between a runway (1) and apron (3), consists of a drive located on or beneath the runway and adjacent areas that can be connected to an aircraft to move it without the aircraft using its own power. The drive, which can be powered by pneumatic, thermal, electrical, electromagnetic and/or hydraulic energy, and in the form of an underground winch or a surface trolley, is linked to the aircraft's undercarriage, and can be adapted to assist an aircraft with additional power for take-off, or to slow it down in the event of an aborted take-off run.
