METHOD OF MEASURING AND INSPECTING BOTTLE CAN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely measure and inspect the threaded part of a bottle can.

SOLUTION: An image processing section picks up the image of the threaded part 33 of the bottle can 30 set on a measuring table and finds the coordinate position of the projecting end 37a of a screw thread of the threaded part 33 in the measuring area K of the picked-up image data. When the can 30 is successively rotated to the final angle in the peripheral direction of the can 30 at preset prescribed intervals, the projecting end 37a of the screw thread moves as the can 30 is rotated and the measuring area K follows the movement of the projecting end 37a. At every rotation, the coordinate position of the projecting end 37a of the screw thread of the threaded part 33 in the measuring area K is found.
