PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make normal reproduction on a reproducing side possible even if multichannels are compressed or non-compressed and are selectively transmitted or even if downmixing on the reproducing side is selectively permitted or prohibited.

SOLUTION: An ATSI includes a first identifier indicating whether the multichannel data in an audio packet is compressed or not and a second identifier indicating whether the downmixing of the multichannel data with stereoscopic two channels is permitted or prohibited.
