PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commodity management method for enabling a receiver having ordered a commodity and requested transportation to quickly receive the commodity even when the receiver is absent from home.

SOLUTION: A commodity storage area information forming section 8 in a commodity management device 1 receives a plurality of pieces of commodity storage state information transmitted from a plurality of storage terminals 30 for every predetermined period and prepares a commodity storage area information table. When a determination section 5 in the commodity management device 1 receives commodity order information and desired storage area information from a user terminal 40, it determines whether the ordered commodity can be stored in the desired storage area or not on the basis of the commodity storage area information table.
