<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circulating dryer and a circulating drying method extremely advantageous from the industrial point of view with little environmental load caused by exhaust gas by suppressing the concentration of volatile components in a circulating system low at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: This circulating dryer for drying a dried object containing the volatile components in a dryer 12, with gas heated by a heater 11 while circulating gas between the heater 11 and the dryer 12, is provided with a gas treating apparatus 16 for exhausting gas extracted from the gas circulated between the heater 11 and dryer 12, to the outside of the circulating dryer after decomposing and recovering the volatile components included in the extracted gas, and a gas supply means 17 for supplying the gas not containing the volatile components, to the gas circulated between the heater 11 and dryer 12.
