PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for displaying a caller, using a character image, in a mobile communication terminal are provided to simultaneously output a call signal termination sound and display a caller character image on a display unit of a reception-side terminal by receiving a call signal, detecting the corresponding caller character image, and transmitting the detected caller character image together with the call signal to the designated reception-side terminal. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of mobile communication terminals(100,200) display caller character images. A web server(300) receives a caller character image from a user of the mobile communication terminal(100), and registers the received caller character image in a DB(500). A communication service center(400) detects a caller image character corresponding to a caller of a call signal received through a base station(600), from the DB(500) of the web server(300), and transmits the detected caller character image together with the call signal to the mobile communication terminal(200). |
