PURPOSE: Provided are a fluorine and/or chlorine-containing acetate monomer for optical communication, and a homopolymer and a copolymer which have higher glass transition temperature, lower light absorption loss, and improved mechanical property necessary to transmission media for other optical communication, in comparison with an acrylic polymer used for optical communication. CONSTITUTION: The monomer which is represented by formula 1, is produced from 2,2-dichlorovinylacetate, and fluorine and/or chlorine-containing acid chloride. In the formula 1, R is fluorine and/or chlorine-containing acid chlorides. The copolymer is produced by introducing fluorine and/or chloride into novel acetate monomer structure, and has more improved physical property applicable to optic communication, in comparison with an existing acrylic polymer.
