PURPOSE: An apparatus for inputting letters using a 5-directional letter input system is provided to array basic consonants at the top, bottom, left, right, and middle sides in a similar direction to an oral structure in inputting letters. CONSTITUTION: As a mobile terminal(10) comprises two stick-type input units, a consonant input unit(20) and a vowel input unit(30), a wider display unit(11) than general display units is embodied. The consonant input unit(20) is implemented as a small stick-type direction key(21) so that consonants can be inputted by a 5-directional letter input system. The vowel input unit(30) comprises three input units(31-33) to input vowels.
