The axle, equipped with a rolling motor (1) and a drive motor (10), especially an electric motor, a differential (2) with output bevel gears (2b, 2c) and two wheel hubs (3, 4), has the second output (2c) of the differential connected to its hub (4) by an offset shaft (9c) and transmission system (9) parallel to the mainaxis of the axle. The transmission system consists of two sets (9a, 9b) of spur gears (91, 92; 93, 94).
