PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane element-supporting device which can be used for a membrane separation device and a leak detection device. SOLUTION: The membrane element-supporting device is the supporting device of a cylindrical membrane element 1 in which one end face forms a raw water feeding end face 2 and the other end face is demarcated into a permeated water flow-out end face 4 and a concentrated water flow-out end face 5 by a divider 3 provided to an axial center part. The supporting device is composed of a first socket provided with a raw water introduction unit with the raw water feeding end face 2 of the membrane element 1 fitted thereto, a second socket 7 provided with a permeated water outlet 17 or a concentrated water outlet 19, and fitted to the permeated water flow-out end face 4 and the concentrated water flow-out end face 5, and an attachable/detachable membrane element holding means for holding the membrane element 1 to the first socket 6.
