The assembly to secure a moving paper web (01) has a body (02), with a slit (03) through it to take the inserted web. The slit is defined by at least one surface covered by an elastic membrane (06) e.g. of rubber, with at least one connection to feed a pressure medium between the membrane and the slit surface. A friction coating (04) is on the other surface. The body is cylindrical, with journals at the longitudinal ends for mounting in a frame with rotation. The rotary axis of the body is through or outside the slit . The membrane is secured at its edges by an adhesive or a clamping bar (07).
