The invention relates to a device for the compaction of loosely packed materials, in particular plastic materials, comprising a comminution/transport rotor body (3, 19) which may be driven about a rotation axis (2) such as to rotate, and an extruder (20), arranged in series after the above with an extruder screw (21) arranged coaxial to the comminution/transport rotor body (3, 19). The materials introduced to the comminution/transport rotor body (3, 19) are transported to the extruder screw (21) and optionally comminuted thus. According to the invention, the comminution/transport rotor body (3, 19) is embodied as a hollow body open on the front face (3b) opposite the extruder (20) and comprises at least one rotation bearing (10a, 1 0b) within the interior (3a) thereof, which rests on a thrust bearing support body (11), extending from the open front face into the interior (3a) of the comminution/transport body (3, 19).
