The engine has an exhaust gas re-circulation pipe (4) containing an exhaust gas cooler (9). The cooler is formed as a heat tube heat exchanger (10), and has at least one closed, evacuated heat tube, filled with a working medium. The first end of the heat tube is positioned in the exhaust re-circulation pipe, and the second end is connected to a heat sink, formed by a gaseous coolant, pref. air, or a liquid coolant, pref. water of the engine cooling circuit (17). |
