The stop valve (10), positioned between two pipe sections (3', 3) and accommodated inside a housing (12), is hidden behind a suitable wall cladding (1). A cylindrical projection (18) containing the operating shaft protrudes from the front of valve housing (12) and is guided through an opening in the wall cladding (1). A circular cover (30) with a central opening is attached to the wall (1), surrounding the cylindrical projection (18) and accommodating the valve operating device.
