<p>A rubberized conveyor belt fastener (16) is provided including a plate portion (12) and elastomeric material (14) that extends beyond lateral sides (22, 24) of the plate (12) so that gaps between adjacent plate portions (12) in a conveyor belt splice can be minimized. The plate portions (12, 12a) can also include elastomeric material (14) extending over the upper surface thereof to better absorb impact forces therewith. Preferably, the elastomeric material (14) connects a strip of plates (12) together. Both upper and lower plates (12, 12a) can be provided with elastomeric material (14) with the lower plates (12a) of solid plate fastener (16) having bolts (42) preassembled thereto deriving the additional benefit of utilizing the elastomeric material (14) to hold the bolt head (76) in its lower plate(18a).</p> |
