The vehicle has a rear seat with a seat part(s) and an associated backrest part with a headrest(s). The backrest part can be pivoted from an upright position for sitting to a lying position for increasing the luggage compartment volume. The headrests can be moved from a position with the backrest upright to a position with the backrest pivoted to increase the distance from the front of a headrest cushion to a seat part cushion surface. The motor vehicle has a rear seat (2) with at least one seat part (5) and an associated backrest part (3) with at least one headrest (4) arranged on it. The backrest part can be pivoted from an upright position for sitting to a lying position for increasing the volume of the luggage compartment. The headrests are rod mounted. The headrests can be moved from their position with the backrest upright to a position with the backrest pivoted whereby the distance from a front side of a headrest cushion part to a surface of a seat part cushion part is increased.
