The present invention relates to an ink cartridge, which is a special consumable for ink-jet printer. An upper cavity forms on the lower surface of the cartridge lid. The orifice of the air vent in ink chamber is positioned under said cavity. A plug which is permeable to air and excludes fluid is arranged inside the air vent. Orientating ribs are provided on the cartridge lid. An one-way valve is provided on the side surface of the cartridge body. The inlet of said valve is communicated with the bottom of ink chamber, and the outlet leads to the ink supply port. The ink supply port has an outward-widened trumpet-like hole that transits from circle to ellipse. According to the present invention, the sponge body in the conventional ink chamber is omitted, whereby relatively increases the ink capacity, reduces the remaining ink, and helps protect environment.
