摘要 The invention relates to a method and device for measuring the speed of liquids in conduits and channels. The inventive method is characterised in that it essentially consists in: producing ultrasound emission and reception sequences, transversely to the flow and along an angle that is inclined in relation to the vertical of the flow in a conduit or channel (1), at a variable but pre-determined frequency using an ultrasound emitter/receiver means (2) at a frequency f0 for a time t1; successively recording a frequency signal backscattered by the walls of the conduit or channel (1) for a time t2 and the frequency signal f0+/-fd backscattered by the tracers and/or the suspension particles in the flow for a period t3; and subsequently analysing the frequency and amplitude modulations of said signal in order to extract one or more values during one or more echo time intervals allocated to one or more segments considered. More specifically, the invention can be used in the field of water piping system surveillance and, in particular, for measuring the speeds of liquids in conduits and channels, notably in wastewater systems that transport natural, rain or industrial water discharge.
