<p>The invention relates to a life-saving alarm device for use in aquatic environments and the corresponding method. The inventive device comprises a first water-immersion sensor and radiofrequency signal-emitting element and a second element which receives the radiofrequency signal emitted by said first element. The aforementioned first element can be removably attached to the body of each crew member while the second element can be attached to a fixed area or areas of the craft. The wavelength of the emitting element corresponds to that of the receiving element. Moreover, the emitting element comprises two external contacts of a circuit which can be closed by water if the device is immersed therein, a microprocessor which can control the functions of the device and a clock device which is used to measure the length of time for which the contacts are closed.</p> |
